Chipotle Corn Salsa Official Recipe

TikTok is excellent for hours of amusem*nt, but when my favorite restaurants utilize it to offer their special dishes, I start to get very enthusiastic! Did you know TikTok shares great recipes?

The official Chipotle TikTok account released some well-known dishes during the 2020 quarantine, including the medium Roasted Chili Corn Salsa. This is one of my favorite salsas!

Recipe Notes

The Chipotle corn salsa recipe was a shockingly fast and simple recipe. Roasted Chili Corn Salsa seems complicated from the name, but it comes together quite quickly, making it the perfect appetizer and an easy copycat recipe. This makes sense since every popular restaurant creates large volumes of fresh food daily!

Key Ingredients

Sweet White Corn

White Sweet corn has more sweetness. I’ve done a lot of experimenting and have found that white corn tastes better and is closer to the flavor of the restaurant. However, it will still work and taste fantastic if all you can get is yellow corn.

Additionally, I’m told that Chipotle utilizes frozen corn. This is a good idea, in my view, since it makes preparation easy. If fresh corn is what you like, cook it on the cob your usual way, then cut it off and utilize it.

Cilantro

Fresh cilantro is a secret ingredient, even though only a tiny quantity is used in the recipe. It contributes to the sole herb or spice in the concoction.

You may add extra if you appreciate cilantro as much as I do.

If you don’t like cilantro, you may cut down on it or omit it entirely, but the salsa won’t taste the same as the Chipotle corn salsa.

Red Onion

Chipotle makes use of red onion. If you don’t have any on hand, a yellow or white onion will work in its place. Personally, try to get red onion if you can since it will give you that delicious flavor, perfect balance, and share bite you need for it to be a chipotle copycat recipe.

Jalapeno

This component was more challenging. They explicitly declare that they are using jalapeño and jalapeno pepper in the TikTok video. But according to the Chipotle website, they utilize roasted poblano pepper.

The component is raw jalapeño. That’s how it tastes to me when I eat the Roasted Chili Corn Salsa at the restaurant. Chipotle employees have also referred to it as a fresh jalapeno. On the webpage, both components of the salsa are stated.

The use of jalapeño peppers is quite clear in the video. Poblano peppers aren’t seen or mentioned, but the corn has a few darker patches that may be these peppers.

I tasted both and concluded that there wasn’t much difference in flavor. Thus I preferred the jalapeño. It is simply more accessible. So choose jalapenos or combine jalapenos and poblanos. Both will provide fantastic outcomes that are fairly comparable. We left them uncooked to save time, and effort, and the results were fantastic. It provided the little kick needed for that true Chipotle taste.

Although I don’t believe there is much of a flavor difference with or without the roasted poblanos, I do include a choice for that in the recipe card’s remarks.

Lime & Lemon Juice

According to the TikTok recipe, citrus juice is a crucial component. It is poured from what is a juice-filled airtight container. However, according to the website and staff, this is a mixture of lime and lemon juice.

We chose both, which helped the flavor get as near to store-bought as possible.

Salt

This unites all of the tastes. Everything is made merrier by the type of salt, but you should be cautious not to use too much, or you will taste it.

Recipe Tips

Following are the great recipe tips.

  • Finely Chop- You should cut the ingredients as small as you can to mimic the texture of the Chipotle corn salsa as closely as possible. The taste will blend better in each mouthful the smaller the onion, cilantro, and peppers are cut.
  • First, combine the onions, jalapenos, and cilantro with lemon-lime juice. Blending the tastes of all the components will help reduce some of the stings that the onions and peppers have. You can easily tell that this is how Chipotle makes its corn salsa.
  • Let it settle for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. This salsa is best after it has rested.

What to Serve with Corn Salsa?

We are all familiar with the vibrant tastes that Chipotle’s corn salsa offers. It goes great with anything from family favorites like Mexican-style grilled chicken, beef, pig, and fish to Chipotle mainstays like burritos bowls, quesadillas, salads, salsa, homemade tortilla chips, sweet corn salsa, and tacos.
