What is the battery life of Aqualung i330r? ›

Battery life: 30 diving hours, rechargeable. Battery charger: USB type A / micro-USB type B cable with a magnetic adapter.

We should note since your dive computer is a required piece of equipment (no different than your mask and fins), it's important to understand if it fails; the dive is over, period. No questions asked. Calmly signal to your buddy or team, “end the dive” by giving the “thumbs up” hand signal.

Many divers can use the same computer for years and years, but there may come a time when the unit can no longer be serviced by a qualified technician. Don't continue to use a computer or any other piece of equipment that cannot be properly maintained.

Only 10–12% of tanks fail this test. The Hydrostatic test is much less than this. I am guessing that this is mainly due to the visual test being once a year and the Hydro test once every five years.

If you exceed the no stop time limits given by your dive computer, you move into "decompression dive" territory. This means you can't swim directly to the surface without unreasonable risk of getting the bends.

Inflexible Display and Lack of Air Integration

Another notable downside of the i330r is the lack of air integration, which isn't even provided as a paid extra - a disappointing omission for many divers.

Compass is necessary to let you know where you are going and how to get back to the boat. Although you can always use the more conventional compass, some dive computers have digital tilt-compensated compass built in.

Unlike many scuba skills, compass navigation works the same in or out of the water. Practice the mechanics of setting and following a compass course on land before you try it underwater. Hold the correct arm position, set the reference marks over the North needle and follow the compass course for a dozen or so strides.

How often should I replace my BCD? ›

If the hose is sound with no signs of cracking, there are no leaks, buoyancy control is good and you service the inflator and dump valves annually after the first five years of use, then you should still have a reliable BCD.

Your dive computer keeps you safe and has multiple alarms to let you know if you go down too deep, ascend too fast, or if you have an air integrated computer, which uses an air transmitter to receive your air pressure throughout the dive, it will even tell you how long your air will last.

Battery replacement should be performed every two years or more often depending on the dive activity. Some lithium batteries may run out unexpectedly, which cannot be tested in advance.

What is the battery life? The Swift's battery life is approximately 300 dive hours or 5 years when in storage. It is important to ensure that the regulator the Swift is mounted on is purged when not in use. The Swift will continue to transmit gas pressure if it is pressurized above 3.5 bar (50 psi).

Shearwater recommends the use of a lithium battery such as the Energizer Ultimate Lithium 1.5v battery to reduce the chance of battery leaks.
